A rich history runs deep at Clearwater
revealed by archeological digs that have unearthed artefacts of a fort built in
this region. While digging a foundation for a pool in 1977, escavators happened
upon ammunitions later uncovering the old United States Fort Harrison built by
the Army.
The etymology of the word Clearwater
is derived from ancient springs that follow the west coast and Oaks Harbor of
the penincula. Beach-goers enjoy the crystal-clear waters as a result of these
springs.
